Due to these geographical conditions, it is difficult for heavy machinery to access the area, making it impossible to construct concrete intake dams, and water is extracted using methods that are vulnerable to flooding and shifting stones. Our surface water intake device, the "Compact WSS Water Screen," is designed to be compact, allowing it to be securely fixed to existing dams with anchor bolts using a dedicated mounting frame, eliminating the need for civil engineering work with heavy machinery. Additionally, weighing approximately 6 kg, it can be manually transported, and it is also possible to install the intake device directly in the stream using lightweight resin U-shaped gutters. The "WSS Water Screen" is a surface water intake device designed for water supply facilities. Our unique backwater intake method and special screen structure suppress the intrusion of leaves and sediment during water intake, and the screen surface is cleaned by washing it with excess water. This allows for stable water intake while preventing clogging. Traditionally, cleaning and emergency responses due to clogging at the intake point were frequent during rainy seasons or when there were many fallen leaves, but the introduction of the WSS has significantly reduced the number of cleaning operations, easing the maintenance burden on-site. The product accommodates daily volumes from 25 m³ to 5000 m³. The WSS for 25 m³ is compact and lightweight, making it suitable for existing weirs and limited installation spaces. Using optional U-shaped gutters can reduce construction costs. The WSS for 5000 m³ is a large-capacity model, making it suitable for use in water supply systems. Currently, it has been introduced in over 1,300 water supply facilities nationwide and is adopted by many municipalities as a reliable and proven product.
